Preping for a Party

This weekend was not only Easter weekend, Saturday was also Boat Race Day! YAY! Boat race is a rowing race between Cambridge and Oxford held on the Themes and this had been going on for a very long time umm about 158 races! So with my dad having studied at Cambridge and living in Putney (where the race starts) we always have a party! This year I took charge and got everything ready, this is what I made on thursday and friday....
You can have a traditional English party without home made BUNTING in the Oxford and Cambridge colour.

Which I also did my nails in with Mac's Spirit Of Truth under Barry M's Nail Effects pale blue 315.

So first I made Brie & Walnut Savoury Scones from The Vintage Tea Party Book

Here they are straight out of the oven

Next up was Spinach and Cheese Muffins from The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook
First the frying of the onions

Everything mixed together

Ready for the oven

Last I made Marshmallow Cupcakes also from The Hummingbird Cookbook

Cakes just out of the even. Cooling before the melted marshmallow was added.

I put food colouring in the mini marshmallow icing so they would be Oxford and Cambridge colours. Here the Cambridge cupcakes have been iced and the Oxford ones have just had there melted marshmallow put in.

Oxford icing being mixed up

Finished Cupcakes

Everything is ready for the big day!
